Top 5 Ways to Come Out of Self-Isolation Looking Better Than When You Went In

Since we closed our doors on March 18th, we have been working hard at helping you continue to look and feel fantastic from the comfort of your living room and in your PJ's. I realize the situation is less than ideal and scary, too, but I hope that these tips brighten your day and have you thinking of sunnier days ahead.

1.  SLEEP

Now you have no excuses for not getting 7-8 hours of sleep every night. If you still aren’t, then you are either getting to bed too late or waking up too early. You need to reset your internal clock. Reading before bed (not on a device) is a good way to get sleepy.  Choose your preferred sleep and wake times, set an alarm and get up when it goes off. It will feel forced for a while, but soon, it will become a routine and you will begin to feel better all day long — and your skin will show it, too!

2.  DAILY SKIN CARE ROUTINE

Cleanse. Tone. Moisturize. It’s so simple, yet it's so easy to get lazy here -- especially when you are home all day and night. Cleanse (AM and PM): YES -- twice a day. Your skin replenishes and repairs overnight. So, start with a nice clean palette. Tone: With the AlumierMD cleansers, toner is built into the product, so yay! 2 steps already done! Moisturize: Hydrate your skin with a daily moisturizer suitable for your skin concerns. Don’t forget to apply 30+SPF for am and something that will help with overnight repair for pm.

3.  TARGETED CARE

Serum. Do you have a specific skin concern? Pigmentation, acne, aging, etc. Whatever the concerns, you should be using a targeted serum to treat it. Serums penetrate much deeper, and therefore help to achieve amazing results.

4.  SPA TREATMENTS

Yes we are closed -- but there are a few retail masks and peels that you can try at home. We have a few that we carry in the online store and we have posted a couple DIY recipes on our Instagram and Facebook page you can try at home. Even a milder treatment will help with cell turnover and give that ever desired GLOW.

5. H2O

Water plays a big role in how your skin looks and feels. If you are dehydrated internally, chances are that means so is your skin.  Did you know your body pulls moisture from its largest organ if it is depleted? So drink up! Lemon water, herbal tea, flavoured water, and many veggies are high in water content.

These are trying times. Let's do our best to nurture our mind, body and soul during this madness. We truly can come out of this better than we came into it. Don't hesitate to reach out to us to chat about your skin care needs - or just simply to say hello. We'd love to hear from you.

Stay healthy. Stay safe.

Looking forward to real hugs soon!
